- Set incoming mail server (POP3) to: mail.4nh.net
- Set outgoing mail server (SMTP) to: smtp.4nh.net
- Set account name to: your full email address (format user@domain.com)
- Account password: (do not change if migrating)
- Outgoing mail server requires authentication Check Box
- Authentication Settings: Same as incoming (default)
For Outlook and Outlook Express: Select Tools, Accounts, click Properties, click Servers tab
Note that you will be able to send and receive email using our mail servers from any location on the Internet
NOTE WELL: Sending UCE (SPAM) is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination of services.
- Secure SMTP: Use Port 465 (requires SSL on smtp.4nh.net or webmail.4nh.com)
- Secure POP3: Use Port 995 (requires SSL on smtp.4nh.net or webmail.4nh.com)
- Backup servers for standard email: mail2.4nh.net and smtp2.4nh.net
- Whle travelling, use http://Webmail.4NH.com
(Email left in INBOX will still be available to email client)
- Be sure that server names and your account name and password are correct (can you receive mail?)
- Is the box checked that says "Outgoing mail server requires authentication"
- Under "Authentication Settings" it should be "same as incoming"
- If all of this is correct and it still does not work, your ISP might have blocked Port 25
- SOLUTION: You can use Port 465 (secure SMTP) in lieu of using port 25
- On Outlook Express, go to Account Properties
- Select the "Advanced" tab
- Under "Outgoing mail (SMTP)" change 25 to 465
- Check the box that says "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)"
- You should now be able to send email
